How does a DVD player work?

Data is stored as 1s and 0s (binary numbers) which represent kinds of bumps and flats in digital form on the DVD. DVD is prepared with aluminum and plastic coated to reflect the laser beam projected by laser assembly. The DVD players have an MPEG-2 decoder or MPEG-4 decoder, which translates the programmed data read by the laser assembly. The decoder translates the data in the shape of audio, video and data. The most important part of the DVD reading is tracking the data.
