Projectors are considered to be the most excellent media to share information through presentations.
Definition:
Projector is device which shows the blown up image of a photographic slide or film on a screen. An optical device for projecting a beam of light or an optical instrument that casts an enlarged image onto a screen.
Process:
In motion picture projector, each frame is maintained motionlessly to an illuminated aperture for a short time.
Then it moves further with the help of alternating sprockets or reciprocating claw. During this process the light gets cut off by the rotating shutter.
Whereas, the soundtrack of the film is produced on a different sound head, in this the film moves incessantly at constant speed.
Resolution and other features:
The standard projectors have a resolution of 800 X 600 pixels, and an average weight of four to six pounds which makes it easy to hold. Projectors come with different brightness and contrast levels with the brightness ranging from 1300 lumens to 1500 lumens. For a small well lit room the projector with 1400 lumens is perfect.
Parts of the projector:
The feed pool, projection lens, optical sound head, an aperture, normal lens, rotating shutters, xenon arc lamps and take up spool are some of the vital parts of any projector.With the advancement of technology the projectors now have more clarity of picture and quality of pixels. The most popular type in projectors is LCD Projectors, video Projectors and DLP Projectors.

Desktop Projectors: they are handy, portable and fit on the desktop. Installation Projectors: these are mostly used for showing images in large venues like conference halls, museums and auditoriums. It has the following features zoom capabilities, high resolution reproduction, interchangeable lens capabilities, tilt features, stereo speakers, a quiet cooling fan, onscreen display, a remote control and mouse.
Slide Projectors: they are popular devices which project photographic slides and the latest version in slide projectors comes up with a pop up screen for instant portable viewing.
Opaque Projectors: it is the oldest type designed which is used as the artist’s enlarging device. It helps the artists to trace the projected images and transfer them into the canvas.
