History of television
Television is modern and most significant sensation of science. It has brought a revolution in entertainment, communication and education. Television was invented by J.L.Baird who helped and brought the cinema and stage into the houses. After this, everyone was able to watch moving, talking and living pictures on the screen seated at home.
Television was not only invented by a single inventor but was made by many people working together. The different parts are-
Rotating Disc: German, Paul Nipkow built up a rotating-disc technology to transmit pictures over wire in 1884 called the Nipkow disk. The light intensities of image are analyzed and transmitted.
Mechanical: In the 1920's, John Logie Baird patented the suggestion of using collections of transparent rods to broadcast images for television. He used 30 line images as its first demonstrations using reflected light instead of back-lit silhouettes. He used the scanning disc idea in electronics.
Charles Francis Jenkins also transmitted the earliest moving silhouette images on June 14 1923.
Television is also based on the development of the Cathode Ray-Tube called kinescope in 1929 invented by Russian inventor, Vladimir Zworykin. All types of modern picture tubes were invented by him.In 1927, Philo Farnsworth was the first inventor to send out a television image consisting of 60 horizontal lines.
Louis Parker invented the modern changeable television receiver. The patent was issued to Louis Parker in 1948.
“V” shaped TV Antenna was found by Marvin middle mark.
Then it was the evolution of color television which was a German idea in 1904. Cable TV was also invented in 1940s and remote controls in 1956. The latest form of television is LCD TV, Plasma TV and now Web TV.
Advatages of television
Television allows you to contact large numbers of people on a national or regional level in a short span of time.
Television being an image-building and visual medium provides the skill to express your message with sight, sound and movement.
Disadvantages
Message is brief, and may need several introductions for the ad to increase above the clutter.
Ads on network affiliates are rigorous in local news broadcasts and station breaks.
Desired ad times are often sold out far in advance.
Limited length of publicity, as most ads are only thirty seconds long or less, which restricts the quantity of information you can convey.
Comparatively costly in conditions of creative, production and airtime costs..
