Types of musical instruments

There are a lot of musical instruments across the world. Many cultures have found their own musical instruments with their cultural backdrops. These instruments are very suitable for them and they suit their tastes the best. We cannot say that one culture might like the music of other cultures. But it is possible that cultures might accept the genres and instruments of music of other cultures.

Percussion instruments

Various types of drums belong to percussion instruments. On a keyboard, you gently press the keys of the board to create music. But in percussion instruments, you may hit them hard, soft or gentle to create music. Instruments that you hit or strike either with your hand or by using any stick to strike them are called as Percussion instruments. They mostly create bass sounds though treble sounds are also possible to be played on these instruments. You need such kind of materials for bringing about treble sounds. They are mostly made of skins of various animals..

String instruments

There are several types of string instruments. Instruments like Guitar, Veena and Piano are some of the String Instruments. Guitars are used mostly by rock bands and all sorts of music. Veena is used in Carnatic music. Most of the melody songs feature a track or two of the guitar sounds.

Wind instruments

Wind instruments are the ones in which we use the air to create music. You blow air inside the instruments to get music. Instruments like Bagpipes, Saxophones etc. are wind instruments. Music genres like Jazz use a high amount of Saxophones. Bagpipes belong to Scottish cultural music and they are blown by bagpipers. The Irish also use the Bagpipes. You blow air into the leather bags and the various pipes create music.

Electronic instruments

Keyboard can be called as the best example of an Electronic Instrument. Dynamophones or Telharmoniums are some of the earliest produced Electronic Musical Instruments. But along with that Keyboards have gone digital and all of playing tunes, composing and recording can be done through keyboards.

You can attach keyboards to a Computer and use different types of software to produce different sounds and create background music for films, videos and compose songs!
Music is the best form of entertainment and anyone who would not love music is rare to be found. Even if someone does not like music, he would get entertained by one or two of his favorite songs!
